Tidal River - (Skutik/St. Croix)

The Town of St. Stephen is based on a tidal river, Skutik or St. Croix, that feeds directly in to the Bay of Fundy. From the downtown wharf you can watch the tides come in and out throughout the day.

Ganong Nature Park at Todd's Point is a 140-hectare (350-acre) gem located eight kilometres east of St. Stephen, NB.

Elm Street Park

Elm Street Park is a 60-acre wooded nature park located at the north end of Elm Street. The park is ideal for short hikes through the woods, dog walking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and biking. The trails are well marked and lead to Dennis Brook. There is no cost to use the nature park, and convenient parking is at the entrance.

Dover Hill Park is one of St. Stephen’s most photographed beauty spots. Located on Milltown Boulevard, the park is just a stone’s throw from the border crossing. The views of the St. Croix river been the backdrop for many wedding and graduation pictures—our floral displays and trails are maintained throughout the year and are the envy of many communities. In the summer, take the trail down to the river’s edge, where you can enjoy our urban oasis at the picnic tables and gazebo—and hit the toboggan hill in the winter! There’s no doubt, Dover Hill Park is one of St. Stephen’s gems.

A proud part of the history of Milltown is the Cotton Mill and the key role it played in the economic development of our area. In 2007, The Milltown Cotton Mill Workers Monument was unveiled as a way to recognize the hard work and contributions of all the people who worked at the Mill during its 75 years of operation.

Milltown Bandstand & Tennis Courts

The Milltown bandstand is a jewel of the Milltown community where many outdoor concerts and events are hosted. The two tennis courts just behind the bandstand offer a get recreational activity for residents and visitors.

The newly renovated St. Stephen Wharf features a beautiful lighthouse perfect for pictures, views of the Skutik/St. Croix River is a tidal river that feeds directly into the Bay of Fundy.

Waterfront Trail

The 1.8-kilometre Waterfront Trail in St. Stephen was completed in October 2020 and now directly connects the Coastal Link Trail to the East Coast Greenway at the international border at Calais, Maine. This trail was upgraded with a paved surface, which improves accessibility and user experience.
